Welcome to Hockey Coffs Coast Officiating page, dedicated to supporting umpires, umpire coaches and technical officials.
Whether you are a parent or teacher simply looking to umpire your child’s matches or you want to make umpiring your hockey career, we hope these pages will assist your development.
Hockey Coffs Coast Officiating Committee will be engaging clubs and members to recruit people into officiating while creating a stronger mentor and training support program for both senior and junior programs.
Officiating is a great way to develop a better understanding of hockey. Whether you’re a player, coach, parent or teacher, a better understanding of the rules will assist all aspects of your game.
Umpire Development
Hockey Coffs Coast has launched the 2020 Junior Umpire Development Program. Below is a brief outlook of the development program and the Google Classroom link to work on your online course.
Setup Guide - Junior Umpire Program
JumpStart - Entry Level
This program is to develop the core skills of umpiring with the main focus on umpires SIgnals, Whistles, and basic rules to develop the umpires confidence. This course takes between 4-6 weeks and will require the umpire to umpire upto and including the 11 division, and complete the online ciurse via google classroom please click the button at the top of the page. All umpires will have a senior umpire on the field for every game to assist with their pactical development
JumpUp - The Trainee Umpire
This program is for the trainee who has completed the entry level training and is ready to focus on the rules of the game and umpires technical skills. As part of the practical training with this program, you will have an umpire coach appointed to the game and may assit the umpire on the field or will work with you from the sideline. Trainees will move through this program at their own pace and once completed umpires should be able to umpire 13's without on field support and be moving into the 16s division
JumpOut - The Junior Umpire
The Junior umpire will now focus on interpretations and at the completition of this program be able to umpire all junior games conducted in the Hockey Coffs Coast compeition. The Junior Umpire will have coaches appointed to the games for feedback and support and the umpire will be getting ready to move into the senior panels
